Webster Model BB-75 for Copper
The Model BB-75 Webster Hardness Tester was built to answer a specific industry need - a fast way to test the hardness of electro-deposited copper and copper in the low hardness range. The B-75 penetrator adds sensitivity, while the Model B load spring keeps the pressure light, together covering the soft range of many common materials.
Each tester ships in a fitted case with a spare penetrator, adjusting wrench, and a standard test strip. Every unit is calibrated to read 17 on a standard test strip of 6061-T6 aluminum alloy at Rockwell E 90 ± 1 hardness.
Uses and Applications:
- Works on assemblies that can't be brought into the lab
- Checks for proper heat-treatment response
- Differentiates soft or work-hardened material
- Gives a rapid 100% check on parts that would normally take a long time to test
- Identifies heat-treated parts
- Flags parts made from improper or substandard alloys
- Correlates readings between a bench-mounted tester and the production line
- Segregates materials in stock
- Works alongside stationary lab hardness testing tools
