The QualiPen-1000Auto is an automatic penetrometer built for precise, efficient asphalt testing in both lab and industrial settings. It measures needle penetration across various asphalt types - petroleum asphalt, modified asphalt, and residues from emulsified or liquid asphalt - to help pin down viscosity and consistency.
Under standard test conditions (a 25℃ ± 0.1℃ constant-temperature bath, 100g standard needle, 5-second vertical free fall), it measures how deep the needle sinks into the sample and calculates the penetration value automatically. That number reflects how hard or soft the material is - useful data for quality control in road construction and asphalt formulation.
It's not limited to asphalt, either - the QualiPen-1000Auto also handles consistency testing for:
- Solid fine particles, powders, colloids, and frozen materials
- Food industry materials like cheese, gum, butter, margarine, cream, and fermented products
