This strain-controlled direct shear machine comes with the essentials - a shear box, soil container, loading unit, and proving ring - with a dial gauge (ordered separately) for measuring shear deformation and volume change. The soil container is typically a two-piece square shear box, and the proving ring measures the shear load applied to the soil along the shearing plane.
The QualiShear-1 uses a straight-line soil-shearing method to work out key soil properties like internal friction angle and cohesion - figures that matter for designing foundations, retaining walls, bridge slabs, pipelines, and sheet piling structures.
